Landmark vs the Power Code™ by Keala Kanae: The Choice is Obvious
If you’re on this page right now, it’s likely that a friend or family member has been babbling on and on about Landmark – suggesting that you attend.
But… is it really what they claim?
Or have they been brainwashed into recruiting everyone they know into drinking the Kool-Aid?
As a personal development researcher, writer, and coach… I was wondering the same.
So, strap in because here’s my unbiased (yet brutally honest) review of the Landmark Forum:
First, Who Am I to Write This?
My name is Kate Harris. I’m a successful life coach, wife and mom.
And, I’m a self-improvement junkie. From an early age I ditched romance novels for self-help books.
It changed my life. It’s how I ended up as a famous blogger. Now I get to help people all around the world.
I get invited to be the guests of programs in exchange for honest reviews.
But I always pay my way so I can give unbiased reviews.
TL;DR: What’s the Verdict on Landmark?
If you’re anything like me and prefer to skip directly to the point, here it is:
Summary:
Landmark is very much what you see online – domineering, manipulative, and potentially psychologically damaging. That said, there is value to their curriculum and content. During the class, I had several “aha” moments that deepened my awareness and opened doors to explore some of my behaviors. HOWEVER – I also know, from experience, that even better results can be achieved without the highly controlling and pressure-some tactics implored by Landmark.
My Recommendation:
In short, there’s better programs out there. My most recent favorite is Inspirean’s Genesis Class developed by Keala Kanae. If you’re an entrepreneur or high achiever looking for an edge in your life and business, I’d strongly recommend checking out Keala’s Power Code™ framework right here »
Unlike Landmark (and most others), it’s a science backed, research based approach to improving your performance by tapping into your life’s purpose, mission, and meaning.
Who Should Consider Landmark and Who Should Look Somewhere Else?
If I haven’t already made it clear, I love personal development.
And generally speaking, I think Landmark is a well intentioned company doing their best to provide a transformational experience to their customers.
That said, is it the very best option out there?
Well, I’ll let you decide.
If any of the following sounds like you, then perhaps Landmark is a good fit:
- You’ve tried lots of other programs and are looking for something new that might spark the change you’ve been seeking.
- You have a friend of family member who won’t leave you alone about it so you just want to sign up so they’ll leave you alone.
- You read the reviews on this page and like the sound of being challenged.
On the other hand, you might want to consider what other Landmark participants have said.
The reviews on Trustpilot weren’t pretty:
“Manipulative”

They spend the whole time getting individuals to open up about their trauma and convince them that they have been “living life from the stands”.
Then they go to state that through mental distinctions that you can overcome never feeling like enough.
Once you feel like they have the solution you are supposed to get friends and family to sign up as well.
“It’s dangerous”

It’s dangerous. They psychologically play you by having you sit in a room from morning to late night until you’re exhausted and saying you can’t go out and socialise after (esp with non landmark people).
Then you do the same thing the next day and after 2 days of exhaustion and brain washing they ask for your credit card details to lock you into the next program.
Not even to talk about the danger of bringing up trauma with people but not giving them the support to do it safely.
“The one star reviews are true”

There’s nothing more I can say than what hasn’t been said on these one star reviews.
This company is all about selling their services and brainwashing others folks to recruit family/friends/etc. to do it, too.
They are incredibly aggressive about it, and it’s quite unsettling.
My Personal Experience:
I attended my Landmark Forum online in 2022.
🚩 Red Flags:
Out of the gate, I noticed it was “high control”. The trainer and volunteers were almost militant about cameras being on.
I turned off my camera for a couple minutes when I stepped away to relieve myself and in less than a minute, my phone was ringing from a volunteer on staff asking “Where are you? You need to be present at all times.”
I felt like I was being treated like a child.
Participants weren’t allowed to speak to each other either.
The Zoom chat was consistently turned off so that anything we said went directly to the staff and volunteers.
It was obvious they were intentionally filtering the content ensuring any criticisms to the material or the trainer were hidden from public view.
Controlling much?
✅ Green Flags:
I want to acknowledge that some of the content and material was amazingly insightful.
Despite my extensive background in this arena, there was valuable new material. Of course, I can’t say much about that out of respect for Landmark’s intellectual property.
What I can say is that I discovered a few things about the way I was showing up in certain areas of my life that were disappointing.
I spent about an hour each evening journaling my takeaways from the class and expanding on my new awareness.
My Conclusion:
While Landmark’s content was insightful, thought provoking, and even helped me make a few shifts that have moderately improved my life…
…I can also say with certainty that those things are possible without the highly controlling environment, high pressure sales tactics, and constant push to recruit new members for their classes.
Did I get value from the class? Absolutely!
I’ve just also gotten much more value for my money with other programs – like Inspirean by Keala Kanae.
Again, if you haven’t done so, check out Keala Kanae’s FREE Power Code™ Training here »
I got more value from his free Masterclass than I have from the majority of programs I’ve paid hundreds or even thousands for.
It’s well worth looking into.
